While many expect the Obama administration to enact carbon taxes and cap-and-trade systems, it seems the President-Elect has the same problem that many global warming activists possess: the “do as I say, not as I do” attitude. You see, during his campaign, The One utilized a chartered 757 jet to fly across the country, hardly a carbon-neutral airplane. And now that he’s been elected, Obama recently flew from Chicago to Washington in the first class section of a Super MD-80 commercial jet. While that sounds great …

I just ran across this blog and found it appropriate to mention here. The Zombie Time blog is the home of the Concourse of Hypocrisy, a page dedicated to finding automobiles with hypocritical bumper stickers or sineage. All the gas-guzzlers are here with their “save the planet” messages emblazoned on the bumper. Have a look and get a chuckle.

Brandon Keim from Wired thinks that the 60 degree temperature day in New York is caused by global warming. The average high in New York for day? 57 degrees. Yup. That’s climate change alright.

This is laughable. Three environmental groups are targeting plants in the Maryland region because of mercury contamination. Paper mills and energy companies are in the crosshairs as this article reports only 1/70th of a teaspoon of mercury is needed to contaminate a 25-acre lake. Now for the laughable part: what happens to all of these CFL bulbs that are due to replace incandescent bulbs in 2012? They do contain mercury and, even with the most stringent recycling programs, many Americans are going to put them …

And here I thought the global warming movement couldn’t get any more creepy. The Greenpeace foundation has resurrected footage of the late John Kennedy and placed it into an online video (click link below to view video at Anthony Watts’ site) as a promotion on fighting climate change. This latest movement from Greenpeace, called Energy [R]evolution, is one that wishes to make standards even tighter than those in the Kyoto Protocol. Among those standards, Greenpeace wants to eliminate all coal-fired power plants and use unproven and expensive …

Green activists EcoAmerica recently conducted a poll and found that only 18% of respondents strongly believe that global warming is anthropogenic in nature, is real and is harmful.  With all of the fear-mongering and propaganda that takes place daily around the world to scare people into believing this garbage, you would think this number would be higher - especially from a poll held by a group of environmentalists.  Either their actual readers aren’t their intended audience or people truly don’t believe in man-made global warming.

Tom Nelson has dug up an article from CBN News where a presidential advisor in the Philippines claimed that we’re only 42 years away from the global warming tipping point.  Whoa.  Not so fast there, partner.  The tipping point started in 1989 with a call by the U.N. to reverse global warming by the year 2000.  Al Gore recently said that we only have 10 years to get off fossil fuels and become dependent on clean and renewable energy.  Maybe all of these global warming activists should get into a …

More Gore Effect in action here:  a group of students from colleges and universities throughout New York state banded together for a bicycle run in foul weather to promote awareness of climate change.  The group stopped in Utica, New York, around noon with environmentalists cheering them on.  The group of cyclists want the candidates to tell voters what they plan to do about climate change.

(H/T:  The Chilling Effect).  I’ve written about the hypocrisy shown by the WWF by asking for nations to come together to stop climate change while at the same time offering a jet tour of exotic destinations around the world.  Now, from the Chilling Effect, a cartoon that does it justice.

The U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon spoke at Harvard University yesterday, telling those in attendance that climate change is now no longer a theory, but a fact (did Gore ever call it a theory??) and that it’s imperative that nations work together to sign an international treaty to cut greenhouse gas emissions before the expiration of the Kyoto Protocol in 2012.  My only question is this:  did Ban Ki-moon fly from U.N. headquarters in New York to Boston for the event, or did he take a vehicle that doesn’t produce …
