The Al Gore co-founded “Current TV” television broadcast network laid off 60 staff members last night and released a statement that the network would use more viewer-generated content, giving its audience a greater opportunity for participation. Sounds like Gore is going with the free labor approach rather than paying someone for their work.

Al Gore, Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »
Al Gore had an editorial piece printed in the New York times today. It’s full of typical environmentalist talking points but only half of the truth is provided. Follow along as I share my comments (in bold) under each of Gore’s paragraphs (in italics) so help break down the truth from the hyperbole. While I’ll only excerpt parts of the opinion piece, the entire op-ed can be read by following the link at the bottom of this post.
[W]e…must make…an emergency rescue of human civilization from the imminent and rapidly growing …

Surely this is a hoax, but worth the chuckle. Al Gore’s new online presence debuted yesterday, a day after Barack Obama became the president-elect of the United States. Gore’s “An Inconvenient Blog” has an about section on the first page with his photo and quick summary of his achievements. Those achievements? Inventing the Internet and global warming. This must be a joke. I thought the real Al Gore called it “climate change” or the “climate …

A zinc mine on Gore’s family farm has halted production due to economic reasons. It has become more expensive to mine the minerals than the profit from selling them. The mine closed for the first time in 2003 but started back up in April of this year. Gore recently asked those mining on his farm to try to limit their pollution. Gore had received about $500,000 in mineral rights until the operation ceased. I guess that’s enough money to only ask the mining company to …

The GoreLied site has a brilliant post from earlier today. Gore is set to perform a webcast tonight for Power Vote that will be, naturally, a last-call for Obama supporters to cast their ballots on Tuesday. With the Gore Effect in full-force, it seems the ex-veep doesn’t want to take a chance on disclosing his location for fear that some global un-warming may take place. Kudos to Al for not taking his private jet somewhere to stump for Obama, though. Now if he would only do …

The National Civil Rights Museum in in Memphis is awarding Al Gore their annual Freedom Award. Gore, who was named as a recipient in August, received the award on Tuesday. It is being given to him for making us all aware of the dangers of anthropogenic global warming. So evidently the museum believes in that myth as well. Gore made a point of saying that his campaign against global warming has many parallels to the civil rights movement. Funny. A truly great man, Martin Luther King Jr., lost his life …

An opinion piece in The Harvard Crimson, the University’s daily newspaper, lambasts Gore for continuing to eat meat all while preaching the virtues of a carbon-reduced lifestyle to anyone who will listen.
While the person who shared in the win of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, is a vegetarian, Gore is not. And while Gore does apparently now drive a Prius, studies find that preparing even 2.2 pounds of meat produce emissions equivalent of 80 pounds of carbon dioxide. An inconvenient truth, indeed.

As I mentioned earlier, Gore took a trip to Harvard University this week to give a keynote address at the institution’s Sustainability Celebration. The event included sustainable foods, such as kettle corn, apple crisp and hot apple cider served on biodegradable plates and in biodegradable cups that were to be composted on the campus. Unfortunately, the cups melted as the hot apple cider was poured into them. Asked about Gore’s speech, one young student said, “he touched on a lot of important points, and the way he brought them all …

(H/T: Tom Nelson, Gore Lied, Daily Bayonet). Apparently I’m the last to hear about this Frank TV spoof of Al Gore’s new film, Supernova. The sun is going to explode, and there’s nothing we can do about it! So why is Gore telling us this? Because he likes the say the word “supernova”.

Al Gore is booked for an engagement at Harvard University on Wednesday of this week for the first University Celebration of Sustainability. This is the launch of Harvard’s new environmental/green/conservation/cut greenhouse gas initiative. Speaking of conservation, Al Gore is set to speak in Portland, Oregon this week at a fundraiser for Jeff Merkley, who is running for the Senate. Just how many pounds of carbon dioxide is Gore going to emit this week traveling back-and-forth across the country? Well, maybe he’ll learn the true meaning of conservation at the Harvard …
