The Democratic National Convention is offering delegates the ability offset their transportation emissions by purchasing carbon credits that will be invested in alternative energy sources.  One such source, a wind turbine in eastern Colorado and a project of the local school district, has received funding from the sale of said carbon credits.  The problem?  The wind turbine doesn’t actually do much.  It’s mechanical parts have malfunctioned, causing it to significantly under perform its potential.  How about using the capital raised by the sale of carbon credits for something useful, like more offshore drilling rigs?
