Last week, voters in London ousted the city’s mayor after a reelection campaign based heavily on environmentalism. Tired of high taxes and not seeing a rise in the standard of living, citizens voted with their hearts and threw out the left-leaning environmentalist mayor. Prime Minister Gordon Brown has now taken measures to reduce existing environmental taxes and even eliminate proposed fuel taxes to stave off the revolt.
