The Global Warming Hoax, A Skeptical Beginner’s Guide continues today.  I hope everyone enjoyed last week’s article on the global warming hoax.  This week I conclude the series of talking points I began last week.

Global Warming Activist Point #4:  The sun doesn’t have any real effect on the Earth’s climate.
Global Warming Skeptic Rebuttal:  Even the Wikipedia site recognizes that we’re currently in a solar maximum, at least at the time the information was collected and place in the online encyclopedia.  Models created to predict climate on our planet from the sun’s activity show that the planet will continue to cool over the next 500 years with sporadic periods of warming.  In addition, the sun has shown very few sunspots so far this year and the Earth’s northern hemisphere recorded record cold and frozen precipitation.

Global Warming Activist Point #5:  Carbon Dioxide has a direct affect on temperature.
Global Warming Skeptic Rebuttal:  Hold on there, cowboy.   Have a look at the graph from this article that represents carbon dioxide and temperature levels over the last 600 million years.  Anyone with half of a brain can discern from the graph that there is no correlation between carbon dioxide and temperature.  The peaks and valleys of atmospheric carbon dioxide levels seem to have no effect on temperature.  And to quote a thousand users on Read More: Digg.com, correlation != causation.

Global Warming Activist Point #6:  Global warming causes more hurricanes.  Katrina is a great example.
Global Warming Skeptic Rebuttal:  Global warming activist sites that want to report on this theory quote an MIT scientist named Kerry Emanuel who first proposed the idea that global warming causes more hurricanes.  Rarely do these same sites show that Emanuel recently reversed his decision.   Just as hurricane forecasters have been wrong over the last couple of years, the global warming crowd has been wrong as well.  With the planet warming more and more every year, according to the climate change advocates, there should be more hurricanes.  However, that hasn’t been the case and the planet has experienced a relatively quiet hurricane season over the last two years.
