Want to Go Green? Leave the Cows Alone

In the most ridiculous and blatant attempt to change your lifestyle, ABC News is suggesting that we all cut back on our meat consumption by one-quarter. The problem? Livestock are just too darn bad for the environment. Cows are fed soy and corn and, pay attention, the fertilizer used to grow corn is manufacturered by a facility that uses fossil fuels to harvest and process the feed. What we’re seeing here is a politicizing of global warming. You have groups that tell us to use corn-based ethanol because it’s good for the environment. On the other hand, you have the PETA folks telling us to quit eating meat. And just like the Obama/Clinton battle, these groups will stop at nothing until their twisted point-of-view is noted as the “correct” way to modify your lifestyle.

Global Warming? I remember when it was the global cooling scare.
In 1801 William Herschel correlated climate change with sunspot activity. A century later E.W. Maunder pointed out a period of very low sunspot activity between 1620 and 1720 known as the Maunder minimum or the little ice age.
Hypothesis #1: Politicians lie.
Hypothesis #2: Scientists are human.
Hypothesis #3: Some scientists will do what is needed to get funding or for other reasons. (Soviet scientist and acquired characteristics are inherited.)
Hypothesis #4 A scientist in 1801 had no reason to lie about climate change.
The evidence supports Herschel told the truth.
How come cows are evil and Swamps are good? Swamps produce lots of greenhouse gases, mosquitoes carrying diseases, Beavers with giardia, and ducks with human flu virus. How come we didn’t have global warming 100 years ago with all those big buffalo producing methane, a lot less trees, all those polluting wood fires, coal fired steam engines, Forest fires, volcanoes….heck they burned down whole cities back then seems like there was more greenhouse gases produced 100 yrs ago than now.
