Carbon Tax, Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »
You thought the new bailout bill was designed to only save Wall Street and not Green Street. Think again. According to this NewsBusters article, the global warming activists have had their input into the new $810 billion bailout package. So let’s dive into the details to see just how the climate change crowd has infiltrated a bill that was, for all intents and purposes, designed to keep the economy afloat by rescuing big financial institutions from failure.
One provision in the bill provides preferential tax treatment to publicly-traded institutions that engage …

A new type of greenhouse gas scrubber developed at the University of Calgary uses a type of chemical bath to strip carbon dioxide from the air and replace it with clean oxygen. Once the device is ready for production, developers think that about 150 of these units would reduce man-made carbon emissions to about one-fifth. Will it work? No one knows for sure, by global warming-loving environmentalists have already denounced carbon-scrubbing technology. I suppose it doesn’t fit into their tax-and-control scheme.

In 1991, Norway enacted a punishing carbon tax - $65 per ton of greenhouse gas emitted. The result? Carbon emissions have risen 15% since that time. The country blames the increase on growth but, with gasoline at or near $10 per gallon, it seems no price is too much to pay for personal transportation. If you think this can’t happen in the United States, think again. From the article:
Although the tax forced Norway’s oil and gas sector to become among the greenest in the world, soaring energy prices led to …

Prince Charles to made his semi-annual statement on climate change yesterday. The Prince of Wales is warming that the world is not reacting quickly enough to stop global warming and that we need to be “courageous and revolutionary” in our approach to the problem. Otherwise, the result will be catastrophic for us, especially poor countries. Then the Prince went on to discuss a local flood and Hurricane Katrina. To be fair, however, Prince Charles did ditch his private jet and ask that his staff use bicycles earlier this year in …

Third-world countries are being lectured about reducing carbon emissions, even though their often times fragile industry is still in its infancy. Some countries in the third world are fighting back, though, as evidenced in India. From the article:
The Indian government’s National Action Plan on Climate Change looked for evidence of harm to India from global warming. Its scientists found none. It also looked for man-made causes. Still no evidence. “No firm link between the changes [to India’s environment] and warming due to anthropogenic climate change has yet been established,” it …
Al Gore »
From himself, of course! Gore started Generation Investment Management LLC on November 6, 2004 and conveniently released his film, An Inconvenient Truth, back on May 24, 2006 - a film designed to scare everyone into reducing their overall carbon emissions to save the planet. Gore is the chairman of Generation Investment Management and apparently very biased with a large financial stake in carbon credits taking off.

Atmospheric carbon dioxide is now at 383 parts per million and total atmospheric greenhouse gas is at 410 parts per million. According to the latest UN report, if these greenhouse gases rise to 450 PPM, “the world risks mass extinction of species and temperatures would soar more than 2.5C.” Emissions are on the rise at an annual rate of 3.5%, despite the fear-mongering cries of global warming activists. With sea level rise hardly measurable and very short of predictions, maybe many around the world just see man-made climate change on …

If you thought the defeat of the McCain-Warner-Lieberman energy plan meant no new carbon taxes, think again. A regional initiative involving 10 states in the northeast United States is holding the first carbon allowance auction today beginning at 9:00 AM EDT. In addition, some of the states involved in this regional effort will begin enforcing a cap-and-trade program on their electric power plants beginning next month. What does this mean for consumers? At a time of already high energy prices, Americans living in these states will be forced to pay …
Environmentalists »
A recent study found that environmentalists who proclaim to be green actually aren’t helping the planet at all. While they might be doing their part locally at home to recycle or reuse, these green campaigners are more likely to take long-distance flights more often. The carbon emissions from such flights negate the efforts of their carbon savings at home. I covered the hypocrisy and arrogance of the environmentalists back in April.

Senators Barack Obama and John McCain both support a cap-and-trade system here in the U.S. and say they will implement such a market-based system when elected. The Messiah, ummm, The One wants to lower emissions 90% below 1990 levels by 2050 and John McCain wishes to lower emissions to 60% of 1990 levels by the same year. Neither one get this, though: global warming is not of anthropogenic origins. Cooler global temperatures combined with increasing carbon emissions does not compute.
