CNN has really outdone themselves this time. Remember hearing about how global warming was causing polar bear cannibalism recently in the news? Turns out, thanks to an article here by Anthony Watts, that the one documented occurrence happened in northern Alaska in 2004. Talk about recycling old news to push an agenda!

From NewsBusters:  CNN ran a headline earlier that said climate change causes bony island kids.  Apparently CNN thinks a drought in the region is caused by global warming rather than any other natural causes - like the fact that there have been droughts and deserts around the globe for a long, long time.  This supposed global warming-induced drought has reduced crop growth in the region.

It’s going to be tough for senators to keep their jobs this November and pass this global warming tax grab bill. Analysts think this is going to be merely a debate before action is taken in 2009…after the elections, as I see it.

From the Associated Press, coal prices are rising rapidly due to, among other things, the cost of cutting carbon emissions in an effort to stave off global warming.  In the article, American Electric in West Virginia is quoted as saying that it’s recent rate hike of 15% is 54% increased coal costs, 32% rising expense of buying power from other companies and the remainder - 14% - is to pay for new equipment that will reduce coal plant emissions.

In typical mainstream fashion, CNN has made a point of only providing poll numbers that showcase global warming as an accepted theory while not providing the other side of the story. So much for an unbiased news source.
