Carbon Tax »
A zinc mining company called Nyrstar issued a response to the government’s proposed carbon tax scheme earlier this week, saying it could force their operation into bankruptcy. Assuming a $40 per ton carbon tax, the company would assume an annual tax of $70 million per year, which would wipe out profits from the Australian mining operation. So the next time a politician suggests that fixing the financial sector by fixing the environment first, remember this article. Entire companies could be wiped out of existence thanks to carbon …

Botanist and well-known face of the British Broadcasting Corporation David Bellamy has had his career go down the tubes, thanks to a comment he made and a myth he didn’t believe. Bellamy refused to tow the BBC’s company line on global warming and has now been out of the spotlight for 10 years. Said Bellamy in the article below, “The sad fact is that since I said I didn’t believe human beings caused global warming I’ve not been allowed to make a TV programme.” We’ve all heard …

A July poll of 1001 people in Australia found that 21% were not willing to pay additional costs for their electricity to help fix global warming. Another 32% were willing to pay an extra $10 per month on their power bill to help fight climate change. Last year, climate change was tied for first place as the most important foreign policy issue. This year, it’s fifth. As I put my tongue firmly in my cheek, let me say this: how dare Australians worry about themselves, their families and their jobs …

Reported yesterday, Harry Reid’s attempt to include a ban of oil shale in a $56 billion economic stimulus package failed today in the US Senate. The House of Representatives is expecting to consider a similar bill as early as Friday but it, too, is expected to fail as President Bush has already threatened a veto. Senators not voting on the bill at all include John McCain (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Barack Obama (not even voting present!!) and Joe Biden (D-CT), among others. While the bill had enough votes for a …
Al Gore »
Al Gore, speaking via satellite at the launch of Live Earth in India, said that it’s time to invest in clean energy to help kickstart the economy and that coal and oil contribute to the debt and financial crisis we’re experiencing today. I hate to tell you, Al, but when people and corporations don’t have as much discretionary income to spend, the last thing on their mind is how to invest in trivial green energy products. The added expense of converting entire systems over to clean energy alternatives is only …

A recent poll of 530 climatologists in 27 countries showed 34.7 percent of interviewees endorsed the notion that a substantial part of the current global warming trend - which might see temperatures rise by a degree or two, on average, by century ’s end - is caused by man ’s industrial activities: driving cars and the like.
More than a fifth - 20.5 percent - rejected this “anthropogenic hypothesis.” Half were undecided. The skeptics now include the 85 climate experts who signed the 1995 Leipzig Declaration; the …
Global Warming Hoax Lead Story, Sarah Palin »
Having watched Sarah Palin’s speech tonight during the broadcast of the Republican National Convention, she certainly seems like a go-getter and a bulldog. From budget reform in Alaska to gas tax revenue refunds for taxpayers, it seems a nod for Palin is a good choice for America. What struck me most during her nearly 45-minute speech, however, was a quick sentence or two that jabbed at leaders like Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi. Palin said that she wants to drill in Alaska, but she wants to use all the resources …

In an effort to prevent losing her party’s majority in Congress, Nancy Pelosi purportedly has given the green light to her Congressional Democrat peers to go ahead with support of the domestic offshore drilling program but only if their jobs are in jeopardy.

Update 2:45 PM EDT: House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) asked pro-drilling Democrats to sign a discharge petition to force votes on energy legislation. It seems the Republicans are making the Democrats put their votes on the line for America.

Environmentalists »
Attorney General Jerry Brown of California has plans to sue a proposed Nestle Waters North America bottling plant in Northern California unless its effects on global warming are first evaluated. More evidence that global warming activists are doing all they can to destroy the economy and, I’m sure, blame it on the Republican administration.
Global Warming Hoax Lead Story, Government Intervention »
A few weeks ago, the U.S. Senate shot down the Lieberman-Warner bill with, quite frankly, little show of emotion from the Democrats and Republicans that supported the legislation to combat the global warming hoax. With such a looming crisis on our hands, and with such dire consequences predicted if we don’t change the course of our carbon-emitting ways, why was there such little fight in a bill that was supposedly so important to the direction of our nation? Even the (then) three Presidential candidates - Hussein Obama, Hillary Clinton and …
