I truly hate to use someone else’s headline for a post here at Skeptics Global Warming, but it was just so catchy that I couldn’t resist. The Irish Spy blog has some perspective on the news that ran over the weekend that James Hansen’s reporting on October temperatures were just a wee bit off, thanks to a blunder which brought over September temperatures. With record snowstorms and cold blanketing the northern hemisphere again this winter, it looks like we could be in for a long-term cooling trend. …

There is something truly special about the Gore Effect. Seemingly every time an event is staged around climate change, unusual weather creeps in and presents itself for the whole world to witness. A global warming bill debate in Britain this week was no exception.
Record cold temperatures dove the northern hemisphere in a freeze from Sweden to the United States to Britain, where London and outlying areas received snowfall in October, a first since the 1930’s.

With all the mainstream press mounting a campaign to warn us that the entire Arctic could be ice-free this summer, it’s important to note that there is still around a half-million more square kilometers of sea ice in the northern hemisphere than there was one year ago today. The major melting should occur on or before the middle of August, and at that point we can call all the mainstream coverage of the ice-free Arctic a bunch of fear-mongering propaganda.

The Canadian agency that records radio flux from the sun has observed a new record low in the observed data.  Get ready for a cooler-than-normal summer for you folks in the northern hemisphere.

Disputing Global Warming, Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »

The Global Warming Hoax, A Skeptical Beginner’s Guide continues today. I hope everyone enjoyed last week’s article on the global warming hoax. This week I conclude the series of talking points I began last week.

Greenhouse emissions dropped 1.1% in 2006. I can almost predict the environmentalists response: “emissions dropped in 2006 and we saw record cold in the northern hemisphere in the winter of 2007-2008 along with decreases in hurricane activity as a result.” Some environmentalist somewhere is going to claim this as truth.

Disputing Global Warming, Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »

I’ve referred to Operation Desperation in a few of my posts and, while my inspiration comes from Rush Limbaugh’s Operation Chaos, it’s meant as an umbrella under which various actions of the green crowd can be grouped as signs of desperation. The global warming activists are losing a stranglehold on the people of the world, and they have the Internet and talk radio to thank for it.
I recently reported on an article that said only 20% of the big four’s news reports contained the skeptical side of global warming. …

Virginia, Minnesota received 32 inches of snow while Itasca County received 29 inches. Interstate Highway 94 was closed as were dozens of school districts. In what is predicted to be a cool 2008, winter is extending into spring following the coolest winter in the northern hemisphere in 30 years. Record cold temperatures were also recorded in International Falls earlier this year.

The number of people that were aware of Earth Hour certainly numbered more than those who participated. Regardless, an awfully large number of people have been reached by the theory of the-global-warming-hoax- monster-that’s-going-to-kill-us-all. Fortunately for us, the scientists involved with predicting the end of the world via climate change don’t agree. Arctic ice is refreezing at record rates. Antarctic ice is growing. The northern hemisphere experienced the coldest winter in decades. …

Did you know that the Winter of 2008 was predicted to be mild? Tell that to the entire northern hemisphere where record cold and snowfall hit hard. As Newsbusters puts it, if scientists can’t model weather two months out, why should we radically change our economy for predictions 100 years out?
