With all of the hype surrounding scientists and their ability to understand everything from subatomic particles to the origins of the universe, it sure seems the fellows at NASA just can’t get anything right with regard to our nearest star, the sun. Solar Cycle 24 seems to be a real mystery to these people and their predictions about when the new cycle will begin remains a puzzle. Already this year, predictions made about the start of the new solar cycle were updated in March and April and again now. Clearly …

Read how Al Gore and his global warming cohorts have used Stalinist tactics to corrupt an entire branch of science. The allegation, confirmed by MIT Meteorology Professor Richard S. Lindzen, is a lengthy read and a bit technical at times, but provides damning proof that there is corruption behind global warming.

Time for this week’s installment of The Daily Bayonet’s Global Warming Hoax Weekly Round-Up for September 26th, 2008. This week, The Daily Bayonet pays homage to Steven Milloy of Junk Science (Read More: JunkScience.com). This is something I should do, too, so thanks for the linkage on your blog page, Steven!! But now, down to business.
Al Gore made an entry on his blog earlier this week defending the Michael Mann hockey stick graph, even though it’s been recently debunked by a couple of fellows from Canada.
Tom Nelson (always a great source …

(Via Jake Lake). Research is underway in seed banks to find food that is climate-proof. Seeds will be screened to determine if they can more easily resist drought, floods and temperature swings. The $1.5 million project will provide grants to others who study the seeds of developing nations in hopes of finding crops that can resist extreme climate events and grow with less water and higher temperatures.

Back on June 27th, the news media predicted a greater than 50% chance that the Arctic would be completely ice free this summer. Now that summer is effectively over for the Arctic and cooler temperatures are prevailing, let’s take a moment to see what really happened this summer. NewsBusters wraps this up nicely, reporting that 1.74 million square miles of ice cover still exists in the Arctic, which makes the scientific predictions off by precisely 1.74 million square miles. Close, but not close enough!

Climate Tampering »
(Via The Atlantic). The Economist is proposing planetary-scale changes to combat global warming. This terraforming could involve removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere or injecting sulphur into the upper atmosphere to block out some of the sun’s energy to cool the planet. While I’m sure this would require a great percentage of the world’s GDP to accomplish, what happens if, like now, the planet is in a cooling phase? How much more money and effort would be expended to correct that problem?

Environmentalists »
Now this is a fascinating graph. Going back to Jimmy Carter’s administration, American citizens were polled in various years on their association with environmentalist groups. While Democrats were in control of the White House, fewer Americans were associated with environmental groups. While Republicans held the Presidency, far more people declared themselves as being associated with environmentalist groups.

In an upcoming edition of Science Magazine, the debate over which was first - a spike in carbon dioxide or a spike in temperatures - is examined. Ocean currents are also studied to see how they can be predictors of climate change. Historical looks at Greenland temperature increases are also included in the article, which show that increases in temperature were preceded by increases in carbon dioxide two to four thousand years in the past. So does this mean we have another couple of thousand years to wait before global …
Global Warming Hoax Lead Story, Name-Calling »
God bless the global warming activists. It must be tough having to defend their positions daily all while trying to indoctrinate new members into their modern-day good ol’ boys club.
While we all know Al Gore stands to profit from the global warming machine due to his investments in companies that produce carbon credits and green technologies, the same isn’t true in reverse. Many of the folks I know that remain skeptical about anthropogenic global warming are just like you and me. Some of them are married and some have kids. …
